We are really happy to show off this Historic Walnford ceremony that we were honored to photograph.
We “met” Dana & Mike about a year ago over a Skype date and immediately connected. We were right on board with their plans for their wedding day and adored their personalities and the way they interacted with each other. A few months later we spoke with them again and they told us they will be cancelling their wedding (not their marriage, of course!) because it just wasn’t “them”. This made us adore them even more!
Instead of the big, elaborate wedding that they originally envisioned, they decided to scale it back to really get to the heart of the reason for the celebration. They planned an intimate Historic Walnford ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family and then a small celebration at the Riverview Restaurant. We think one of the most important things you can do when planning your wedding is to stay true to yourselves. Plan a day that the two of you want, not what you think you should do or what someone else tells you to do. This is a day you will only get once so create a day that you will cherish for years to come!
They choose their ceremony spot because it was a place they would always drive past and it was the place they got engaged! So many small details that play a large part of their lives were also incorporated into their day. They had a bagpiper at the ceremony to honor Dana’s Scottish roots (and her mom had one at her wedding as well!) Thistles were added to Dana’s bouquet, a photo of her step-father, Dana’s mom’s family Davidson Clan tartan and Mike’s grandparent’s cake stand that they received at their wedding!
