This One’s for the Groom on his wedding day!…..

Ladies, grab your groom, they should read this one! People often put most of their focus on the bride, but believe it or not, you are a part of the story too! You may not feel the need to be gushed over and spend two hours getting ready with your best guy friends, but spending a little time with the focus solely on you is important too. Just a few moments spent documenting your transformation from casual to your best suit helps tell a very important story. We have put together a few tips for the groom, too!

  1. Gather up all your important details and put them together to be photographed. This includes your watch, cufflinks, shoes, tie, etc. All these small details may not mean something to you right now, but they are all the things that make up YOU on this big day!

  1. We are storytellers. We tell the story of your day, how you want to tell it. We are not there to stop your fun or pose you and your groomsmen. We will photograph you putting your last pieces that make up your suit and then document the last few moments of you as a single man.
  2. Don’t cross the line between a few drinks and a few TOO many drinks. Most groom prep photos involve a cooler of beer, some engraved shot glasses, a few flasks, or all three. We don’t mind, in fact we encourage, a few drinks to take the edge off. One whiskey or scotch on the rocks or a beer to cheers with your boys is plenty for the morning of. We do groom prep pictures pretty quickly and don’t want the whole focus to be the alcohol.

  1. Keep the room tidy. About ten minutes prior to us arriving, take a moment to clean up a little bit. Empty beer bottles, trash, and underwear are not the items you want in the background of your photos.groom getting ready in hotel
  2. Spend a couple hours a few days before the wedding to learn how to tie a tie, put in a pocket square and use cuff     links. So many times, we have watched grooms put tutorials on YouTube and try to figure everything out twenty minutes before they need to leave. You would think by now that we could do this stuff for you, but we can’t (boutonnieres are another story, we’ll help with those!), so practice before the big day!groom getting ready in house
